               involves breaking a market into segments and then concentrating your marketing efforts on one or a few key segments consisting of the customers whose needs and desires most closely match your product or service offerings. It can be the key to attracting new business, increasing your sales, and making your business a success.

that is why when company comes to target market maybe it will have to exclude some customers of market customers.

In “CakeLand”, the marketing team tried to focus more on target market and team wanted to determine company customers carefully so when it will be :

age : it will be from 3 years old to only 40 years old (team will exclude old people +40 years old because Malaysians +40 avoid cakes and sweets because of diabetes “based on researches”) .

gender: both

status: all status well be targeted.

income: based on classes which company explained in market analysis, it will target class A and class B and class C will be excluded because of prices level.

activities: everyone can eat cake as it is very healthy.

location : company will target customers in kualalumpur and nearby states because cake should deliver to customer as a fresh which it will be difficult with customers from kualaperlis or far states ( later company will target them by opening stores there ).

nationality : local and international people who live in Malaysia is most important class that is why company edit the cake recipe to meet the Malaysian taste. However, company target the tourists too by opening stores in touristic places.
